Chemistry
is often referred to as the "central science". An understanding of chemistry
is essential to the study of almost every aspect of science and technology.
Chemical principles lay the foundation for such fields as biology, medicine,
materials science, and environmental science. At Concordia we seek
to develop in our students both the conceptual and technical expertise,
as well as the problem-solving and professional skills, necessary to succeed in a science-based
career. We offer two majors in chemistry: the traditional
11.5-course major, and a
14.5-course major endorsed by the American Chemical Society
(ACS) recommended for students who plan to attend graduate school or
work in industry. In addition, we offer a
chemistry
education major, as well as a 5-course chemistry
minor,
and a new minor in
neuroscience. |
